Helps patients regain their strength and mobility

Physical therapy is good for improving strength, balance, mobility and overall fitness. There are many benefits of physical therapy for the elderly. Not only is it great for providing a safe environment for conditioning, but it also helps strengthen and improve balance.

In physical therapy, our aim is to assist patients to regain strength and mobility, manage pain, as well as improve balance and endurance through meaningful activity. Our goal is not only to return them to their previous level of function but in most cases better than their previous level of function. We incorporate gait training, strengthening, balance and safety together to ensure a safe transition home.

Modalities

The therapy team utilizes various modalities to assist in the overall treatment of their patients.  There are a variety of modalities that can help strengthen, relax, and heal muscles.  Such modalities may include:

  • Electrical Stimulation
  • TENS (transcutaneous nerve stimulation)
  • Heat & Cool Treatments
  • Diathermy
